Today, July 3rd, me and Gorm celebrated our 18th wedding day. We didn't go far. First stop was Museum of Vänersborg - a museum started by these guys in the 19th century:
They looked quite real, almost like Madame Tussaud's à la Vänersborg.
In one room, we found more north European species, and in another room, we found miss Lion. Not a small cat that one. Not at all.
Bear with a swan in the background. The bear was in a glass display as I was in front of, the swan was not at the other side of the glass display, where I thought it should be at first when I saw the swan in the camera picture. It was behind me.
That bear belonged to a temporary exhibition about the British man Llewellyn Lloyd, who lived in Vänersborg during the 19th century. He was catched by the Swedish nature, and he was among other things hunting bears.
There was more to this museum than stuffed animals. Egyptian mummies, porcelain, beautiful pictures and local history. There was also experimental possibilities for kids. Absolutely worth to visit, though we didn't bring any kids this time.
